Mightn't it be better to take the half dozen or so exhortations advocating compassion, care, rights, etc., and run with that, suggesting a better way to achieve this?

Rather than charging that this is designed to provide "ideas of why it should be ok to hate on a marginalized group"?

An appearance of reacting to nominal if perhaps somewhat misguided empathy with viciousness is an argument for retracting the empathy and trying hate instead, isn't it?

(This holds whether or not one believes that the article was actually written by a psychiatrist, whether the anonymity was out of concern over death threats, and whether or not one suspects ulterior motives.)
