Modern medicine in no way gives us the power to infer from what we know about development that we should expect "a variety of genders".

Please don't try to cheerlead for modern science and medicine by implying or stating that you're well-informed when you're not. (You have made several mistakes that someone who remembered merely their high school biology would not have made.)

If you trust it, just say that.

If you're interested, absolutely learn more! Don't forget to get a solid grasp of the basics too, though, as they're necessary context for understanding other things (like prospects for developmental differences as a consequence of exposure to different hormones in utero).
