No, the humanitarian catastrophe happening in Palestine (mostly Gaza) for the last seven months shouldn't divide anyone, and should keep us all on just one side: the side of humanity.
But you aren't coming down on that side. You are working on the side of the dividers. Don't want to be? Then use unifying language, not divisive language.
It's really not hard. It's hard if you're identifying with "your side" and using the language of "your side" and not paying attention to what other people are saying. But if you pay attention to what people say across the divide, then it's not.
