Of course! And the OP acknowledged that, right? But there doesn't seem to be any reason why the gains that have happened (and note that rates of sexual assault haven't changed much) couldn't have happened or possibly been even greater if a different approach was taken that didn't have the downsides that the OP mentions.
If one thinks the OP is simply wrong about the downsides, one could challenge them on it. If one thinks the OP is exactly right on what has happened, but that nothing else is possible and it's a worthwhile tradeoff, one could argue that. But at least engage with the OP's points.
