Of course people are pushing things on her kids: the entire point of public schooling is to push things on kids.

We hope that we're pushing enriching, beneficial things that allow kids to be productive well-adjusted members of society.

But you can't seriously maintain that the kids are not having skills, attitudes, social skills, etc., pushed on them. Pushing is the point!
