Of course, you shouldn't have to feel obligated to point out to people those facts about racism that are apparent enough to anyone who goes looking for an open mind.

On the other hand, the United States is falling ever deeper into self-reinforcing echo chambers. When all the bridges are on fire and nobody is building any more, when everyone's in an isolated pocket with their fingers in their ears and screaming at those morons in the next pocket, what hope is there for stable, lasting improvement?

Shouldn't someone be trying anyway? After all if Daryl Davis can reach even KKK members, it can't be the case that vast swaths of the population are simply unreachable. It might be the case that it's not worth the effort to try.

So, not your job. Totally reasonable to tune out the willfully and woefully ignorant.

But save a shout-out for those who are going to try to convince them anyway.
