See Figure 1C: most immigrants are poorer than the average, and their children are equal or more wealthy.

This includes immigrants from Asian countries (China, South Korea, Vietnam, etc.).

See 5c specifically, where Asian upward mobility is incredibly high.

So, where does all this excess upward mobility come from?
