"Realization" presupposes that the view described is accurate, which it is not (and never was). You sometimes have to use the conscious entity as a somewhat-inaccurate measurement device to report on aspects of their own experience, but the epistemological concerns are no different than for science that uses any other manner of imperfect measurement tool.
