Society is a collaboration. In default culture, the collaboration is already set up and working--maybe not perfectly, but you don't have to start from scratch.

The highly aggressive approach that demands things that are only very questionably rights (e.g. the "right" to make other people adopt novel language when referring to you) is not a good way to approach a collaboration.
