Stern rebukes to horrifying, ugly responses are appropriate. And I embrace standing with people in advance of such attacks when they are expected, both to deter the attacks and to bolster courage to say difficult things that need to be said.
But your wording pre-rebukes people who haven't yet given any response, and by choosing a mild term you have made it apply to almost any man who has anything but unconditional support to offer. I doubt that this is helpful for eliciting wider rejection of ugly behavior.
