The heterodox academy (https://heterodoxacademy.org/) is an entire organization devoted to addressing (some of) the concerns you express here--I'm guessing that you haven't heard of it or else you likely would have mentioned it. Alas, there do not appear to be any members who are at Christian-Albrechts University.

However, it may nonetheless be heartening to know that you are not alone in the view that people should not feel threatened for wanting to explore an idea that is not currently the most popular amongst the left!
