The IDF has used thousands of airstrikes and ground-launched shells to destroy Hamas' infrastructure, resulting in very extensive damage to a very large fraction of structures in northern and central Gaza. Sometimes ground forces are used instead to reduce civilian casualties (e.g. they did not flatten Al Shifa, but went in with ground troops--and were attacked by Hamas, who then had the gall criticize Israel for fighting around the hospital...seriously?!). But it does not follow that enough has been done.

I accept that Israel has done more than any other military to reduce civilian casualties, but it needs to because it is conducting an operation that has more risk of massive civilian casualties than any other. One can both accept that no-one has done better and also that, under the circumstances, they have not done enough, both in terms of individual tactical decisions, and also the overall strategy of how they were going to conduct the war.

For instance, occupying northern Gaza, setting up a strict security perimeter, and then evacuating (unarmed) Palestinians into northern Gaza doesn't seem to have been part of the plan, and could have saved many many thousands of lives.
