The liberal idea is that all people should be treated equally, justly, and humanely. There may be some people who believe that "whites are racist because of the color of their skin", but that is antithetical to liberal values.

Not everyone in the Democratic party is liberal, however. Far-left progressives are not necessarily liberal.
