Another spot in which you miss the ball. There is no "cancel out a bit" because toward the outside gravity has a lot more space to pull its gravitational force on, while toward the center gravity ends up with less space for the gravitational force to pull on. You made space and gravity the same in both directions. You make no decent distinctions
