The Olympics skateboard medalists were 19, 12, and 13, so although Ricci's comments were rather discourteous, they're accurate.
However, if physicality really doesn't play a role, I don't understand why there are separate men's and women's divisions. If there's genuinely no advantage either way, it seems like it'd be more fair (and maybe more exciting!) to have a single pool of contestants.
(If physicality does play a role, then one would need to start asking questions about the impact of two years of HRT--and then everything gets complicated, needs a research grant to answer, etc. etc..)
