The problem isn't that liberal universalism is being criticized. The problem is that is is being done from a position that cannot accept criticism, or really even have any coherent concept of knowledge at all.
The problem is that while following the pattern of reason at times, it threw away the foundations of reason.
If it scrupulously goes and gets reason back again, of course we should listen. (We should listen anyway, because even bad methods can occasionally discover something worth understanding...but if we think what we're hearing is important, we should fix the methods, not double-down on breaking them yet further.)
