The problem with your argument is that there are a profusion of people screaming "genocide" at Israel.

Are you taking them to task for doing so, suggesting to them that they should be "not using semantics at all" and "using the numbers of dead, injured and displaced people"?

Are you taking yourself to task for using the term "genocide" instead of such figures in your own comment a little later?

The author explained quite clearly why one ought to be careful with these terms. You offered no rebuttal to his logic at all--indeed, you ask "this is twisted logic attempting to do what?" when in fact the answer is spelled out extremely clearly in the first four paragraphs of the article!
