There are people (including those on Medium) who say that doctors should have no say in the matter either: it should be 100% up to the woman.
And given that there exist a very small number of women who actually kill their own children, your argument that no woman would ever want to terminate a healthy baby about to be born is highly suspect. Maybe the case is very rare, but the child-murder case is very rare and we certainly have laws in place to handle that.
Your characterization of the most extreme positions is, therefore, wrong. (This doesn't mean that Dancona is precisely right, of course.)
