This is a really nice summary of the historical factors behind the (modern) "woke" attitude!
The only bit it misses, that I've seen, is the addendum that the original term "woke" was orthogonal to Marxism and critical theory and so on, and instead was organically generated by black Americans as a warning to stay alert for dangerous manifestations of racism. Because this warning aligns with the racial oppression theme, it was adopted (with favorable connotations) by people intending to be activists against racial oppression (not necessarily just black), and then, as the most distinctive word, apparently it took over more connotations still...and again, because it was very distinctive, it was also picked up by the right as a label for that portion of the agenda that they wished to deride (including that part that was their own fabrication for purposes of political posturing).
So, anyway, the word itself has a bit of an origin story too. Not nearly as interesting or deep as that behind the ideology, but it's also not completely straightforward.
