This is not inconsistent with the thought-experiment graph that Simon drew, so I'm not sure that this actually is a counterargument to what Simon was saying.

Then again, I kind of thought the graph sounded like a counterargument against his own point (with the strength that he wished to make it), so I'm kind of confused.
