Your article is excellent! But I think the whole blocking-on-a-whiff thing cedes a lot of power to cancel culture when the whiffs themselves are curated by that culture.
One doesn't have to maximally embrace critical thought and reject cancellation in order to productively embrace critical thought and reject cancellation. One can make allowances for one's sanity, for instance. But this is an area that's very easy to twist into pretty substantial echo-chambering.
