Under the conditions posed by the man vs bear question, the number is astoundingly lower than one in ten, at least in westernized countries.
That's why this question isn't a question of relative risk. Almost nobody gets both risks right even to within a factor of a hundred, which means they can't compare them, which means this isn't about actual risk. When men or women are talking about relative risks, they almost always miss the point. You can't compare ??? with ???? and have a sensible conclusion. You can, however, adopt a posture that makes a statement.
