"v^2 isn't linear" doesn't answer the intuitive question, though; it just rephrases it. The intuitive question is, basically, "momentum is relative and kinetic energy is not but momentum determines kinetic energy and how can that even work?!?!"
One who rejoices when everything is made as simple as possible, but no simpler. Sayer of things that may be wrong, but not so bad that they're not even wrong.
