Wait, so you disagree with Clinton (and Bachelet and Black and Sirleaf) and think human rights aren't universal, so perhaps Hamas is free to slaughter Israeli civilians, and/or the IDF is free to slaughter Palestinian civilians while seeking reprisal against Hamas?

Why isn't time of great loss of civilian life exactly the time to revisit principles of how we wish for societies to treat their members, and call on those widely-agreed-upon principles as powerful arguments for seeking a more humane approach?
