We need something, for many of the reasons that you say. Unfortunately, CRT has various sorts of baggage that make it unsuitable for general use (some of which I explain here).

We do need to address the legacy of racism in the U.S. and internationally. We don't need to do it by forgetting how to think carefully and by making it extremely hard to find out when we're wrong despite feeling that we have pure intentions. We don't need to do it, metaphorically, by trying to use the One Ring as a weapon to overthrow Sauron.
