Well, it's not as though there aren't problems with some aspects of traditional masculine behavior as expressed in many countries. It's not entirely illogical; it's reasonable to be afraid of violence, and it's also reasonable to expect that the greatest danger of violence is from men, and in part because of how masculinity is interpreted. But the move from that to misandry is unjustified.
I don't think it's particularly profitable, though, on average. Like much tribalistic behavior, the increased in-group unity comes at a cost. One can figure out a way to make a bit of money off of everything, but generally, silos are bad for profit because they reduce economy of scale. But hey, we already said it wasn't a fully rational reaction, right?
