When you’re faced with a crisis, but not an existential one, trying random different stuff to solve it that might turn it closer to an existential crisis is not a good idea.
The easiest lever right now is probably nuclear power. The crowd most opposed to it is the crowd most sympathetic to climate change — flip them, and it’s suddenly tenable. We’ve already got electric vehicles covered; we just need power storage and a steady supply to augment solar and wind and such. New plants could be online in 5–10 years and have a massive impact on emissions in countries with nuclear tech.
It’s not the only possibility, but it beats pipeline sabotage if you’re in a hurry for a big difference that isn’t already underway.
