Whoa, whoa, that's eight. That you even mentioned the U.S. Civil War--where the government position was challenged but the government won--indicates that either I haven't entirely made my premise clear, or you haven't entirely obeyed it.
To try to clarify: the premise is that there was an established order, "tear it all down" was attempted and basically happened (as opposed to "orderly transition to a better way", for instance), and there was not an extended period of misery.

Which part of Argentina's rather-tumultuous history were you thinking of? There are a couple instances of "tear it all down" attempts, but I don't see anything good coming out of them directly, only people sometimes picking themselves up out of the ruins, after a lot more pain than when the transitions were more orderly. So what did you have in mind?
