Why is there any lack of respect there because of the name, though? Also, why is the asymmetry in "Millennial" instead of in "Gen X"? "Greatest Generation", "Baby Boomer", "Gen X", "Millennial"?

Stereotypes will get associated with any name. "Change the name whenever stereotypes build up" seems like a strictly worse aim than "quit stereotyping people".
