Can you please do this so we can evaluate the quality of your evidence? Is this "all serious historians agree on the basis of extensive documentation that" or "there is debate with some historians thinking that" or "a few bold historians deconstruct the imperialist narrative to reveal that" or what?
It would be somewhat surprising if the abolitionist movement, which was very active in the U.K. from the late 1700s onwards, had absolutely no impact whatsoever and/or all the documented speeches and such expressing moral outrage were actually all secretly because the economics had changed for other people that the abolitionists had little to no direct contact with.
If you want to argue for some economic impact, that's quite a different thing than if you want to argue for no moral impact.
