You make a lot of good points, but liberals / progressives aren't uniformly blameless, either.

Most recently in an election, McAuliffe managed to tell parents that they should have no say in what their kids learned, which is about as maxxed out on condescension as you can get.

And there's the whole progressive-and-further-left tendency to enthusiastically adopt "whiteness" as a negative trait (newsflash: if you're talking to a mostly white conservative audience, they are NOT going to be thinking about the academic lineage of Whiteness Studies, but rather that you hate them because of their skin color).

So, well, liberals could stand to get less condescending, even if conservatives are quick to exaggerate, distort, and just plain lie about what liberals are saying.

The true condescension hits the hardest, because the people inside the echo chambers don't care anyway, but the people outside of them can often enough tell the difference between the lies and actual condescension.
