Anyway, I should have mentioned that SC elsewhere said that she thinks at least for attitudes towards herself that her perception is accurate. And in the story here, she did clarify (with Urchling) that it's "all men", which is in direct contrast to not all men.

Both of these things together are what prompted my reply, because usually the statement is "that's how I feel" (not really a matter for debate) or "yes of course there are exceptions but I'm talking about the overall trend here or total risk profile when I say 'all'".

This is (non-obviously, I realize in retrospect) why I structured the response the way I did.

If she had taken a position like you did above, I would have responded differently, if I'd said anything at all. But, again, because I was using side-information from a previous conversation prior to this post, this isn't as obvious as it should have been.
