Generally I would consider "break up with someone who fears and loathes you" (or who you fear and loathe) to be sound relationship advice.

So maybe, just maybe, you're giving an example of Professor Stone's point: you're viewing the situation with strong affective polarization bias. If not, you're bolstering MTG's stance, not showing why it's mistaken; you should praise her for her insight and courage in correctly labeling the situation as it is.
