You think that Trump is being investigated because he's being cancelled?!

So the Right is right: this is all just a political witch-hunt and has nothing to do with the rule of law?

I agree that shame isn't (always, anyway) about changing someone's mind, but it does tend to be about changing someone's actions. In any case, my previous point stands: it's an intra-tribe dynamic. It can work on both the person who is being shamed and the people who might support them within the tribe, but nobody cares what the bad wrong dumb wicked enemies think about you because they're bad, wrong, dumb, AND wicked.
